The Salty & Sustainable Standard: Our choice of adventure this summer

So its finally summer... we are so so stoked. Yes, winter means epic consistent surf and cozy fires and mega usage of the fluffy towel poncho, but it also means big guts too get in the water- freezing your face off, hikes/runs on the mountain with icy side ways wind and rain and early sunsets. So yes we are frothing for the sun, longer days, warmer waters, hot weather, healthy doses of vitamin d and all that summer has to offer.

As an outdoors person, who gets the most amount of joy from activities in nature and the ocean I've put together a small list of things I am keen to do/have done already this summer/things we will continue to do and things we do daily.. to keep us thriving in amongst the busy hustle and bustle of life

-climbing pecks valley before sunset, enjoying the sunset and coming down under pink skies

-surf at Kom/Noordhoek when the south easter is pumping and the swell direction is working

-cycle to Dalebrook for a morning dip. Coffee specials are all over the place before 8am.

-cape point missions to do new hikes and swim in new places, find a wave and spot more eland (get a wild card if you don't have one- such good value if you like to do missions like this)

-hike up table mountain- we all know there are loads of route- bench mark 2 this summer

-hike Chapmans Peak... in my personal opinion this seriously doesn't get old. Its soooo beautiful!! take a picnic too. Why not

-sunset drive over Chapmans Peak and stop to take it all in.

-Silvermine hikes and a dam day... this is just the freaking BEST

-lunch at Aegir project in Noordhoek after a long walk/surf at Noordhoek beach

-braai at Oudekraal. Its such a beaut spot. If you have the luxury of going early in the morning for a brekkie braai or in the weekday to miss the crowds- do it.

-swimming and sunsetting at Bakoven. I mean its bloody great

-Saunders rocks.... only because your mates are probably going and you don't wanna miss out

Pack your Salty C essentials for these adventures:

-quick dry towel/poncho

-cozzie/bikini/boardies

-hat/cap

-sunglass strap

-Soulty Sea Dogs Sun butter

-Tote Bag for all your things

-Moon Bag for all your smaller things

-bat and ball set for the beach days

-your crew neck sweater for after sun set
